Setting Trusses

My dad came out and helped Nick set trusses. He was SO nice to take another day off of work to help Nick. Nick also has two guys who have been helping him the past couple of weeks, plus a really awesome guy from our church volunteered to come out and help. It definitely took all of them to get this project done.

Upstairs and Entry Way

This is a view from just inside our front door looking at the entry way. Nick had an idea to make this cool ceiling. The dome on each end is made out of half of an old satellite dish. I couldn't really understand what he wanted to do when Nick was explaining it to me, so I trusted him and let him build it. I'm glad I did because I love the way it turned out.
Last week Nick built all of the upstairs walls. The kids were super excited to see their bedrooms. They all have mini-suites upstairs with their own bedroom/bathroom/closets. This is a view looking down the hallway towards Grant and Brady's bedrooms.
This is the exercise room. Can you say indoor boot camp? Yea!

This is Drew's room.
This is the upstairs game room, and the little room you can see Nick and Brady standing in is the upstairs storage room.

More Framing...

Nick and 1 other guy have been working non-stop to frame our house. I can't believe how much they've gotten done. It's only been 2 weeks since they started framing! My dad has been so nice to take off work and help a few days, and some awesome guys from church have stopped by to help a couple of days, too. It hasn't helped that the temperatures have been over 100 degrees many of the days. Nick is wiped out by the time he gets home at night. He's been working on the framing from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every single day.
Above is a picture of our family room, and below is a picture of our kitchen.

Above is a picture of the media room, and below is our reinforced safe room.

Ok, the next picture down is my favorite...it's my closet! Nick has his own closet, so I get this one to myself. I'm SO excited.
Heading upstairs...

This next picture is our guest room, so all of you out of town folks start planning your next visit!
This is a view from the dining room looking into the walkway that goes to the kitchen.

The boys and I stop by every day (usually a couple of times a day) to check on the progress. The kids have been fascinated by the construction process. This day we happened to have some friends with us.

Here is Brady standing where his new room will be. Check out the view of our backyard from the 2nd floor.

We had fun watching Nick be carried around by this forklift.
